Start with the person and the moment, then pick the colour, then the size. Red says romance, pink says warmth and thanks, white and cream feel calm and elegant, and yellow or orange feel cheerful. Our rose arrangements run from $100 to $1,000, so the budget sets the scale.
Most flowers are chosen for how they look. Roses get chosen for what they say. A dozen red roses on an ordinary Tuesday means something different from the same dozen on an anniversary, and both mean something different from a soft pink arrangement sent to a friend who just had a hard week.
So before you look at a single photo, ask what you want the person to feel when the door opens. Swept off their feet. Thanked. Remembered. Congratulated. Once you know that, the colour and the size usually choose themselves, and the card message gets much easier to write.
Red is the classic language of romance. It is the right call for anniversaries, Valentine's Day and any moment where you want there to be no doubt about what you mean.
Pink is warmer and less formal. It suits thank yous, new babies, mothers, grandmothers and friends, and it is a safe choice when you care about someone but red would say too much.
White and cream feel calm, elegant and timeless. They are lovely for a new home or a wedding anniversary, and they are also appropriate for sympathy. Our sympathy flowers guide covers that occasion in more depth.
Yellow, peach and orange are the cheerful end of the range. Think birthdays, get-well wishes and congratulations.
Colours on hand change through the year because we buy fresh rather than from a fixed list. If one colour matters, call (830) 251-6685 and ask what is looking best that week before you order.
There is no rule, but size changes the feel. A small, well-made arrangement is personal and easy to set on a desk or a bedside table. A full dozen is the traditional romantic gesture. A large, lavish arrangement is for the moments you want to be talked about for weeks, such as a milestone anniversary or a proposal.
Think about where the flowers are going, too. An office desk or a hospital room suits a smaller piece. A home can take as much as you want to send. Stem length matters as well. Long stems make a tall, dramatic vase, and Roses #5 in our shop is built with extra long stems for exactly that look.
Every rose arrangement in our shop shows its real price, and that is the price checkout charges. Our rose arrangements currently start at $100 and go up to $1,000 for the largest piece. Most sit between $100 and $200.
Delivery is a flat $15.00 to every address we cover, and Texas sales tax of 8.25% applies to the flowers and the delivery. You see the full total before you pay. There are no service fees on top.
If you want something the shop does not show, such as a particular colour mix or a specific number of stems, call us or send a Custom Order request. We build custom work to your budget and send an invoice afterwards.
For an everyday delivery, order before 1 PM Central, Monday to Saturday, and we can deliver the same day in Fredericksburg, Stonewall and Willow City. Harper and Doss are delivered on the next delivery day. We are closed on Sunday, so a Sunday anniversary is best scheduled for Saturday.
You can book up to six months ahead, which is the easiest way to get a date right. For Valentine's Day and Mother's Day, order early. Those are the busiest weeks of the year for any florist, and roses are the flower everyone wants.
Browse our rose arrangements, choose one, and check out with the recipient's address, a delivery date and your card message. We write every card by hand. If you are sending from out of town, our out-of-town delivery guide covers the details, and our flower care guide helps the roses last once they arrive. See our delivery page for the short version.
